Process
You will need to research the
features of the Pantanal and then determine what it has to offer that tourists
might pay to come and see.
Use these questions to guide
your research:
Where is the
Pantanal located?
What makes this
region unique? Wildlife? Geology?
Scenery? Culture? Climate? History?
What can this
area offer tourists?
What are some
things tourists could do?
How would they
get there?
Where would they
stay?
What jobs would
be created to enhance the local economy?
What might be
some obstacles? Look at the viewpoints
of a developer, environmentalist, local person, government, etc.
When you have finished taking
notes, please share with your teacher.
When your teacher has
approved your research, the next step is to make a PowerPoint presentation that
will persuade the Brazilian government that your plan for ecotourism
development in the Pantanal is the best – that it meets the economic and
conservation needs of the region.
Include reasons and information in support of your proposal. Click here
